Clarkson Superintendent Named Influential Leader in Construction at NAWIC Industry Celebration
May 26, 2026
Clarkson Construction is honored to have been recognized as a finalist for the Community Impact Award at The Builders 2026 Building Excellence Awards.
While we're proud of this recognition, what makes it especially meaningful is what it represents: the dedication of our employees to making a difference in the communities where we live and work.
Community has been a cornerstone of Clarkson since our founding in 1880 and remains one of our core values today. From volunteer projects and charitable partnerships to workforce development initiatives and student outreach programs, our employees consistently go above and beyond to support causes that strengthen our region and industry.
Clarkson employees have dedicated their time and talents to organizations and initiatives across the Kansas City and St. Louis regions, including career exploration events, classroom visits, mentorship opportunities, community improvement projects, veteran support programs, and fundraising efforts benefiting local non-profits.

The Power of Partnership
As part of the award nomination, several community partners provided letters of support highlighting the impact of Clarkson's involvement:
Veterans Community Project

- Chris Admire, Executive Director
Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City

- Paige Peterson, Director of Corporate Partnerships & Andrew Long, Manager of Big Futures
Clarkson has proudly partnered with Veterans Community Project (VCP) since its founding on numerous initiatives, from volunteer service projects and community events to efforts that directly support Veterans transitioning to stable housing and long-term success. Through employee volunteer days, fundraising efforts, and hands-on support, Clarkson team members have helped advance VCP's ongoing mission of ending Veteran homelessness and empowering Veterans to thrive.
Our partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City has created meaningful opportunities to support local youth and families. Clarkson employees have volunteered at events, introduced students to careers in the construction industry through jobsite tours and career exploration events, supported fundraising initiatives, and helped provide holiday gifts and essential support to families facing hardship through the organization's programs.
Building Stronger Communities
Community impact takes many forms, and Clarkson employees continue to find new ways to serve.
Whether mentoring students through school and workforce development outreach, participating in hands-on volunteer projects, helping with community improvement efforts, or partnering with local organizations in Kansas City and St. Louis, our employees consistently demonstrate a commitment to making a difference.
Building More Than Infrastructure
At Clarkson, we often say that we build more than roads and bridges: we build relationships, leaders, highly effective teams, and stronger communities.
This recognition is a reflection of the culture our employees have created — one that values service, generosity, and a willingness to give back.
Thank you to The Builders for this recognition, to our community partners for their support, and most importantly, to every Clarkson employee who gives their time, energy, and heart to making a difference. Your commitment to others is why Clarkson was recognized, and it's what continues to make our company stronger every day!
