Clarkson Construction Recognized as Community Impact Finalist
June 4, 2026
This month, the Clarkson-Radmacher Joint Venture team was proud to serve as a sponsor of Camp NAWIC and host campers for a jobsite tour and celebration lunch on the Improve I-70 Kansas City project.
Camp NAWIC is a free, hands-on summer camp that introduces high school girls to the many career opportunities available within the construction industry. Throughout the weeklong camp, participants engage in activities and demonstrations focused on construction safety, carpentry, painting, concrete, plumbing, electrical work, equipment operation, and more.
On the final day of camp, participants were able to see those concepts come to life on an active construction project.
After arriving on site, campers received an overview of the Improve I-70 KC project before heading into the field for a guided tour of construction activities. Along the way, they met with members of the project team and learned about the wide range of careers required to successfully deliver infrastructure projects.

A highlight of the visit was the opportunity to hear directly from women working in the field. Megan, a carpenter, and Jennifer, an operator, shared their career journeys, discussed their day-to-day responsibilities, and answered questions from campers about working in the industry.
Events like this are made possible through the efforts of dedicated volunteers, industry partners, and construction professionals who generously share their time and expertise. Clarkson is grateful to the NAWIC members and supporters who continue to make Camp NAWIC a success year after year!
We are proud to support initiatives that promote workforce development, expand awareness of construction careers, and encourage the next generation of builders to pursue opportunities in our industry.
