Building Bridges at MoDOT KC’s Take Your Kid to Work Day

This week, the Clarkson-Radmacher Joint Venture team joined MoDOT Kansas City's Take Your Kid to Work Day for a fun, interactive experience to introduce kids to the world of construction.

As a part of the day's activities, we set up a station themed around the Improve I-70 Kansas City project. We built a mini version of the I-70 corridor and invited participants -- kids, parents, and grandparents alike -- to design and build their own bridges over the roadway using a variety of craft materials. 

Once the designs were complete, they tested the strength of their bridges using mini construction equipment, with impressive creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving on full display!

Our team also handed out water bottles and stickers to decorate -- because as we learned during Safety Week, proper hydration is key when working on a construction site!

This event is a part of our ongoing community and STEM outreach efforts tied to the Improve I-70 KC project.
