Clarkson is proud to contribute to the empowerment of small, local, and diverse businesses across the Kansas City region as a member of the Kansas City International Airport New Terminal Project joint venture team.
More than a dozen first-of-their-kind initiatives were developed at the outset of the KCI New Terminal Project to support minority- and women-owned businesses. Managed by Clarkson team member Latoya Goree, the Terminal Workforce Enhancement Programs (TWEP) continue to provide access to critical training, financial and supplier resources, and workforce initiatives.
Three years into the project, minority- and women-owned firms represent 48% of all project partners and have been awarded more than $290 million in contracts. Initiatives such as the Pay Without Delay, Low Interest Loan, and Supplier Support programs have provided the necessary financial assistance to eliminate known barriers to success to help small businesses grow.
