Clarkson in the Community: Harvesters Sort & Pack Volunteer Sessions

Members of the Clarkson team, in partnership with the greater Clark | Weitz | Clarkson joint venture team on the KCI New Terminal Project, helped sort and pack over 100 boxes or approximately 2,500 pounds of bottled water, sports drink, juice, drink pouches, and protein shakes for distribution into the community. The team was recently able to re-start monthly volunteer sessions after nearly a month on hold due to COVID-19 precautions. Harvesters is a regional food bank serving a 26-county area of northwestern Missouri and northeastern Kansas; additionally, Harvesters provides food and household products to more than 760 non-profit agencies including emergency food pantries, community kitchens, homeless shelters, children's homes, and others. In 2020, Harvesters provided more than 186,000 after school and summer meals to children, over 111,450 pounds of fresh produce to seniors in need, and more than 57 million meals to food-insecure families in our region.
