Phase 3 Underway at Manhattan Regional Airport

As Phase 3 continues on the Manhattan Regional Airport Runway Project, Clarkson crews are paving an average of 2,000 yards of new runway pavement each day. Each lane of pavement measures 25 feet across, 12 inches deep, and is finished by hand using straightedges, floats, and trowels. When complete, the project will provide a new primary runway, taxiways, lights, signs, navigational aids, and grading to service the state's second largest commercial airport.

The new 7,000 foot runway is scheduled for completion by the end of August, just in time for the kickoff of the Kansas State University football season in early September!
