Project Update: Final Approach Slab Poured on Missouri 9 Redeck
October 13, 2025
Clarkson crews have been hard at work on the U.S. 59 and U.S. 169 roundabout update south of Garnett, Kansas, with operations happening at two key locations just over five miles apart.
At the pug mill, aggregate is loaded into a hopper, mixed with water and cement, and then loaded onto trucks as Cement-Treated Base (CTB). Around 200 truck trips per day transport the material to the jobsite, keeping the project moving efficiently.
On the jobsite, crews are busy dumping, spreading, compacting, tripping, and applying a curing layer to the CTB. Later this month, paving crews will begin their work, followed by subcontractors handling final grading and dirt work.
One complete, this roundabout project will feature wider lanes and realigned entrances and exits, improving traffic flow and safety for everyone who drives through. Thanks to our dedicated crew and the collaboration with Kansas Department of Transportation, this project is on track for full completion in summer 2026.
