Project Update: Holmes Street Bridge Replacement Over I-670
December 23, 2025

Each September, the construction industry comes together to observe Construction Suicide Prevention Week, a national effort to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention, reduce stigma, and connect construction professionals with resources and support.
This year, Clarkson carried that conversation directly to our teams with a simple message: Check In. Speak Up.
Throughout the week, members of Clarkson's Safety Team visited jobsites to hold stand downs and talk with employees about the importance of knowing their crews, checking in when someone seems off, and speaking up when they or someone around them may need support.
Clarkson's message throughout the week focused on two simple actions:
- Check In: Take time to know the people you work alongside. Ask how they are doing, pay attention when something seems different, and be willing to start a conversation.
- Speak Up: Ask for support when you need it, and say something when you're concerned about someone else. No one should feel like they have to handle difficult times alone.
The outreach extended across Clarkson's operations, including a stand down at our St. Louis-area office in Truesdale. Members of both the day and night shifts came together, giving co-workers who may not regularly cross paths an opportunity to connect while discussing mental health, suicide prevention, and the importance of looking out for one another.
On the Improve I-70 Kansas City project, members of the Clarkson-Radmacher Joint Venture also gathered for a project-wide conversation. With hundreds of people contributing to a project of that scale, the stand down reinforced that teamwork goes beyond the work itself. It also means knowing your crew, checking in, and looking out for the people working alongside you every day.

At Clarkson, safety has always been our top priority, and that commitment includes the whole person. While Construction Suicide Prevention Week provides an important opportunity to bring additional attention to mental health, the responsibility to look out for one another continues every day of the year.
We're grateful to our Safety Team, project leaders, and employees who made time throughout the week to connect, have important conversations, and help strengthen a culture where everyone knows they have a team behind them.
