Kansas City-Based Clarkson Construction Earns Top National Safety Honor
April 6, 2026
Clarkson Construction has been awarded First Place in the Highway & Transportation Division (450,000 - 650,000 work hours) in the 2026 AGC Construction Safety Excellence Awards (CSEA), one of the highest honors in the construction industry for safety performance.
Presented by the Association of General Contractors of America, the CSEA program recognizes companies that demonstrate excellence in safety and health performance, strong risk management practices, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Companies are evaluated not only on their results, but on how safety is built into their culture and day-to-day operations.
Earning first place at the national level is a significant achievement and reflects on our team's ongoing commitment to protecting its people.
A National Recognition Built on Culture
While the award was announced on a national stage, the foundation of Clarkson's safety success is built in the field. It's in the daily conversations on jobsites, the decision to do work the right way, and in the ways our crews look out for one another.
Clarkson's safety program goes beyond compliance. It's rooted in culture where every employee is empowered to take ownership of safety and contribute to continuous improvement.

Representing Clarkson on the National Stage
As part of the awards process, a team of Clarkson employees traveled to the AGC Annual Convention in Orlando to present to a panel of judges. The group brought together perspectives from safety, field operations, and communications, sharing how Clarkson's approach to safety is driven by collaboration, field engagement, and employee feedback.
The message was clear: Clarkson's safety program is successful because of its people.
This Award Belongs to Our Crews
At Clarkson, safety is not just a program, it's who we are. As a sixth-generation, family-owned company founded in 1880, that commitment has been passed down through generations.
This recognition isn't about history, it's about the people who continue to build and strengthen that culture every day. From the field to the office, Clarkson's teams are the ones making the decisions that keep themselves and their teammates safe.
Clarkson Construction is proud to be recognized among the nation's leaders in safety and remains committed to advancing a culture where every employee goes home safely at the end of each day.
