Summer Intern Spotlight: Tristen Shores
July 26, 2022Summer Intern Spotlight: Oryan Downey
July 29, 2022In honor of National Intern Day (June 28), we want to highlight the talented and hardworking interns that joined the Clarkson team this summer. A junior in Construction Science & Management at Kansas State University, Cade Goodall has spent his summer supporting the Quality Control team at the batch plant for the Kansas City International Airport New Terminal Project. As a resident of Lee’s Summit, being able to work on the single largest infrastructure project in Kansas City’s history for his first internship was an exciting opportunity.
“Growing up here, it means a lot to be a part of the team that’s building the New Terminal. I didn’t realize just how much went into something of this size until I got here,” Cade said. “Being on a huge project like this means that I’ve been able to work alongside the joint venture, multiple subcontractors, and different trades, which has been so cool for my first time on a jobsite. I’ve learned more about construction this summer than ever before.”
Spending time at the batch plant and in the field has given Cade a lot of hands-on experience that he’s looking forward to taking back to his more advanced construction science classes this fall. Following graduation, he knows that the construction industry is the place for him and hopes to become a project manager or project engineer.
