Russ Clayton, CSP
Vice President | Risk Management

Russ provides leadership and strategic direction to Clarkson's Risk Management Team, which includes safety and claims departments. He elevates the company's safety culture by integrating safety into processes and procedures, overseeing training programs, conducting on-site inspections and audits, administering the Safety Management System, and managing insurance claims to reduce liability and risk exposure.

Russ brings nearly 20 years of experience as a safety professional, with previous roles including Vice President of Safety and Training for Tilson Technologies, Vice President of EHS for BHC, and Corporate Safety Director for Clyde Companies. He has served as adjunct faculty of Occupational Safety & Health at Brigham Young University–Idaho, Columbia Southern University, and is a published author in the Professional Safety Journal.

Russ holds a Master of Science in Occupational Safety & Health from Columbia Southern University, a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Brigham Young University–Idaho, and is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). He is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP).

Russ and his wife of 19 years enjoy spending time outdoors with their four children. An avid cyclist, he stays active both professionally and personally.
