KCP&L Iatan Power Plant – Ash Pond CCR Removal

Clarkson is currently working with KCP&L to remove Coal Combustible Residuals (CCR) also known as fly ash and bottom ash that were placed in existing ponds at the Iatan Power Plant before CCR disposal was regulated by the EPA. Clarkson has teamed with Dredge America to remove the material and haul it to an on-site landfill using a combination of mechanical and hydraulic methods. When the project is complete it is anticipate that over 1.4 million cubic yards of CCR material will be placed in the approved landfill.
