rAt just over one million square feet and $1.5 billion, the award-winning Kansas City International Airport New Terminal Project is the largest single infrastructure project in Kansas City's history.
Completed on time and on budget in February 2023, the New Terminal opened with:
- 40 Gates
- All-Glass Passenger Boarding Bridges
- New 2,600-Space Parking Garage
- State-of-the-Art Passenger Amenities
- Largest One Percent for Art Program Ever Completed
- Airside and Landside Civil Improvements
In addition to serving as a member of the Clark | Weitz | Clarkson joint venture team, Clarkson also contributed to the construction of the project's split-level elevated roadway system, landside civil improvements, and airside paving. Airside work included taxiway apron construction and tie-ins to existing taxiways, which included:
- 39,000 square feet of airfield taxiway
- 80,000 square yards of light-duty PCC pavement section
- 9,900 square yards of VSR PCC pavement section
- 16,000 square yards of shoulder PCC pavement section
