Our Leadership Team | Chris Smith

Chris oversees Clarkson's Commercial group, data centers, and vertical construction, while also managing the company's interests in affiliate companies. His leadership extends Clarkson's capabilities beyond heavy civil construction into diverse market sectors.

With 27 years in the construction industry, Chris started in his family's construction business at a young age and worked his way up from Field Engineer to Vice President. His career has been marked by significant recognition, including KCASA Superintendent of the Year and being named to ENR's Top 40 Under 40.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and earned an MBA certificate from the Darden School of Business, equipping him with both technical expertise and advanced business acumen.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys working on his property and building things with his hands. He also loves bird hunting and golfing.
