Celebrating Women in Construction Week 2026: Meet Brandy Gillespie
March 3, 2026

Each year, the construction industry pauses to recognize the women who help build, lead and strengthen our communities during Women in Construction Week. At Clarkson Construction Company, we're proud to be a part of that celebration and even more proud of the talented women who contribute their skills, leadership, and dedication across our projects and teams.
Throughout the week, we're highlighting a few of the many women who make Clarkson what it is today!
Meet Raeha Nobbs, Procurement Specialist
Though Raeha has been in the construction industry for just six months, her impact has been immediate and meaningful. With a professional background in supply chain and finance, she transitioned into heavy civil construction ready to apply her skills in a new environment — and quickly discovered just how transferable they truly are.
“Construction projects require strong coordination, detailed financial oversight, vendor negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration,” Raeha shares. “Those are the same core skills I developed in healthcare supply chain and finance.”
Finding Her Path in Construction
Raeha’s introduction to construction started at home. With her husband also working for Clarkson, she gained an appreciation for the complexity and dedication required to successfully deliver projects. When she was ready for a new challenge, construction felt like a natural next step.
Today, she plays a key role supporting the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project in the St. Louis region, the largest active Missouri DOT project in Clarkson’s history.
More Than Procurement
While many people think procurement is simply placing orders or negotiating pricing, Raeha explains it’s far more strategic.
Her role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and project execution. Every decision impacts schedule, cost, and overall project success. From job setup and subcontract processing to compliance monitoring and billing coordination, she works closely with project managers, engineers, field teams, and the finance department to keep everything moving forward.
“There really isn’t a typical day — and that’s what makes it exciting,” she says. “Right now, my focus is doing whatever it takes to set the team up for success.”
Beyond the numbers, Raeha values the broader mission behind the work.
“The focus isn’t just financial success; it’s about improving communities and creating safe roadways and landmarks people rely on daily. That commitment is woven into our company culture.”
A Project That Stands Out
When asked about a favorite project, Raeha doesn’t hesitate.
“The St. Louis-area Improve I-70 Project is a turning point. It proves that a company built on strong foundations can stretch beyond its roots and rise to new levels and new locations.”
Being part of building Clarkson’s presence in a new territory has been especially meaningful — contributing not just to a project, but to long-term growth and impact.
Life Outside the Office
Outside of work, Raeha enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Moose and Sunny, and her cat, Meatball. Whether antiquing, attending country concerts, training her dogs, or trying new restaurants, she and her husband enjoy building community in St. Louis, a tradition inspired by their New York roots and families who showed love through cooking and hosting.
One Word: Devotion
If Raeha could describe her career in one word, it would be devotion.
“Devotion means choosing to give my best to a company that sees me as more than just an employee. It’s about loyalty, sacrifice, and showing up with heart because the work matters — and the people matter just as much.”
