Celebrating Women in Construction Week 2026: Meet Laura Burciaga
March 5, 2026

Each year, the construction industry pauses to recognize the women who help build, lead and strengthen our communities during Women in Construction Week. At Clarkson Construction Company, we're proud to be a part of that celebration and even more proud of the talented women who contribute their skills, leadership, and dedication across our projects and teams.
Throughout the week, we're highlighting a few of the many women who make Clarkson what it is today!
Meet Peyton Stephens, Rental Coordinator
Over the past five years, Peyton has built her career through hands-on experience and a willingness to learn every facet of the business. For her, construction stands out because it's tangible.
"You get to see the results of your work come to life," she says. "I also love the fast-paced, problem-solving environment and the teamwork it takes to bring a project from concept to completion."
More Than Just Equipment Rentals
While some may assume her role is simply scheduling rentals, Peyton explains there's much more happening behind the scenes.
"It's not just about renting a piece of equipment," she says. "It's about managing details, timelines, budgets, and relationships all at once."
Strategic equipment coordination requires anticipating project needs, reviewing forecasts, and ensuring crews have the right tools at the right time. The work directly impacts productivity, safety, and overall project performance.
A typical day includes ordering rental equipment for job foremen, tracking and organizing assets, coordinating with vendors, reviewing project timelines, and solving challenges as they arise. No two days are the same — and that's exactly how Peyton likes it.
Finding Purpose in the Work
For Peyton, one of the most fulfilling parts of her job is knowing she plays a role in helping projects run smoothly.
"When crews have exactly what they need, I know I've done my job well," she says. "Construction is truly a team effort."
She values the daily relationships she builds, not only with co-workers in the field and office, but also with the vendors who help support Clarkson's projects across the region.
A Project Close to Her Heart
While she's worked on many impactful projects, on experience stands out in a different way.
Peyton once coordinated light tower rentals for an event hosted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The event was for a young boy who loved monster trucks. A full-sized Monster Jam truck was brough in so he could climb inside and experience the truck up close.
"It by far wasn't the biggest project I've worked on," Peyton says, "but it's the one that took up the most space in my heart."
Being part of something that brough so much joy to a child and his family is a memory that she'll carry with her forever.
Life Outside of Work
When she's not coordinating equipment, Peyton enjoys coaching and playing volleyball, staying active, and spending time with family and friends.
If she could describe her career in one word, Peyton chooses rewarding.
From supporting crews in the field to making a lasting impact in her community, her work reflects the collaborative spirit and purpose that defines the Clarkson team.
