Chief Financial Officer

Brooks provides strategic financial leadership at Clarkson Construction, overseeing all accounting, budgeting, and financial planning activities in alignment with the company's purpose, vision, and strategy. He establishes and maintains relationships with company leaders to achieve financial goals while identifying opportunities for improvement through technology and streamlined processes. Brooks mentors team members and builds a trusted finance team that deeply understands the business, develops strong analytical skills, and contributes to the company's overall financial performance.

With 30 years of experience in the financial industry, including 18 years at Clarkson, Brooks has served as Controller (2008-2016) before being named Chief Financial Officer in 2017. His accomplishments include managing over $30 million in subcontractor payables, developing financial reports that provide critical operational insights, and reducing audit fees through coordinated efforts between accounting staff and external CPA firms. He also leads the company's information technology strategy as a member of the IT Committee.

Brooks earned his degree in Accounting from Avila University and is an active member of the Kansas City Chapter of the Construction Financial Managers Association, where he served as president in 2011.

Outside of work, Brooks enjoys spending time with his family.
