Summer Intern Spotlight: Carter Hall
July 27, 2023Employee Spotlight: John Slater, Grading Superintendent
August 23, 2023In honor of National Intern Day (June 27), we want to highlight the talented and hardworking interns that joined our team this year. Meet Tristen Shores from Clark County, Missouri, who spent his second summer with Clarkson working on the Buck O'Neil Bridge project in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.
"It's crazy to think that I get to be a part of one of the biggest projects in the state of Missouri so early in my career," Tristen said. "I've been working on erosion control, drainage, barrier walls, and traffic control, which can be a real challenge in such a high-traffic area, but also extremely important because our top priority is making sure the public is safe."
Tristen said that the interactive nature of the project office and jobsite have helped him improve his communication skills and that he looks forward to taking what he's learned back to his more advanced civil engineering classes at Missouri S&T in the fall.
After graduation in 2026, Tristen hopes to make the permanent move to Kansas City to become a Project Manager with Clarkson.
