August Employee Spotlight

Our August employee spotlight features Mary Serene, one of our Cement Mason Foreman who’s been with us for 20 years.

Role: Cement Mason Foreman

Industry tenure: 28 years

Years at Clarkson: 20 years

Recent projects: The Grandview Triangle, Kansas Speedway, I-70 corridor, and Johnson County Gateway.

Most challenging part of the job: Keeping the quality of the work in balance with the timeframe and project budget.

Best part of the job: Watching something be torn down and built back up brand new. Clarkson has been a very good company to work for. The family is amazing and the coworkers are more like family.

Favorite project: The Grandview Triangle because I was able to watch the area go from traffic jams every day to a widened highway system. It was also some of the best working days because we had a lot of work to do.
