Project Update: Girders Set for Wolf Creek Bridge on Quivira Road Project

Last week, crews set 15 girders for the brand-new bridge over Wolf Creek, an exciting milestone in the Quivira Road project between 179th and 187th in south Overland Park. With the girders now in place, progress continues as work moves forward on the bridge deck and the rest of the corridor improvements.

When complete, this project will deliver major upgrades to the area, including:

• Two new bridges from 183rd to 187th

• Reconstructed roadway from 179th to 183rd

• A new roundabout at 179th

• Shoulders, bike lanes, storm sewers, street lighting, curb, and gutter

This important project will enhance safety, mobility, and connectivity for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians in southern Overland Park.
